Lust Stories 2: Falling Short of Expectations and Fizzling Out
Oh, how it could have been better, a shame, it’s true, With stronger storytelling, a different view. Feminism’s portrayal, an admirable goal, but overdoing it backstabbed the story as a whole.

I love good stories, but Lust Stories 2 became a hate story for me.
You know, when I settle down to watch a movie, I’m craving a solid story that captivates my mind and engages my emotions.
But “Lust Stories 2” failed to deliver on that too.
It seemed more interested in bombarding the audience with sexy scenes rather than focusing on building a meaningful and compelling narrative.
Needless to say, that left me feeling frustrated and of course, disappointed. So, without any spoilers (hey you can still watch it
), here are the 5 reasons why I regrated wasting 132 minutes of my life.
1. Just lust, no story
Ah, yes, the classic case of all sizzles and no steak. “Lust Stories 2” prioritized lust over substance, leaving us with a collection of stories that lacked depth and coherence. The focus seemed to be solely on showcasing sexual content rather than crafting engaging and thought-provoking plotlines. It’s a shame because a balanced blend of sensuality and storytelling could have made all the difference.
2. Lack of creativity
In a genre that thrives on pushing boundaries and exploring the uncharted territories of desire, “Lust Stories 2” felt rather uninspired. The stories lacked the creativity and freshness that made its predecessor intriguing. It felt like a missed opportunity to dive into unique aspects of human sexuality and deliver a more innovative and thought-provoking viewing experience.
3. The Vijay and Tamanna story was not even convincing:
Oh, boy, let’s talk about the Vijay and Tamanna story. Their chemistry felt forced, and their characters lacked depth and authenticity. It was hard to buy into their actions and connect with their journey. A convincing and well-developed narrative is vital to make us emotionally invested, and sadly, this particular storyline fell flat in that department.
4. Showing feminism is good, but overdoing it is overselling and that backstabs:
Now, don’t get me wrong, showcasing feminism in films is fantastic. It’s important to highlight gender equality and women’s empowerment. However, in “Lust Stories 2,” it felt like the filmmakers may have gone a bit overboard. The excessive focus on feminism seemed forced and overshadowed the need for a well-developed plot and engaging storytelling. Balance is key, and unfortunately, that aspect seemed to be lacking.
5. Lust Story 1 was far better in terms of story, direction, and message:
When comparing this sequel to the original “Lust Stories,” it falls short in many ways. The first installment had stronger storytelling, a more nuanced direction, and conveyed thought-provoking messages about desires and relationships. It’s a pity to see the sequel not living up to the high standards set by its predecessor.
The final thoughts:
Taking into account my love for good movies and my role as an amateur reviewer, I have to give “Lust Stories 2” a rating of 1/5 stars. I do want to acknowledge the hard work put in by the crew, but the lackluster storytelling, absence of a compelling plot, and missed opportunities for creativity make it difficult for me to recommend this film.
Now, my dear readers, I encourage you to share your thoughts and opinions.
Have you watched “Lust Stories 2”? Did you feel differently about it? I’d love to hear your perspective.
If you don’t know about it here is a trailer for you and you can watch Lust Stories 2 on Netflix.
And remember, even if this particular film didn’t hit the mark, there are plenty of other captivating stories out there waiting to be explored. So, keep your eyes open and continue supporting the art that resonates with you.
